In Q.wiki, you can add external links to other systems in the navigation bar. This gives all users quick access to frequently needed external tools – directly from Q.wiki.
Requirement: You need Key User rights to configure external links in the navigation bar.
How it Works
| Topic | Details |
|---|---|
| Visibility (no links yet) | As long as no external links are configured, only Key Users see the empty group and the option to add new links. Regular users don't see the "External Links" module group in this case. |
| Impact on all users | Changes take effect immediately for all system users after you save. |
| Multisite systems | External links are displayed regardless of the current unit. |
| Maximum number | You can add a maximum of 5 external links. |
Adding External Links
- Go to Tools > Navigation > External Links.
- Click + Add link.
- Enter a descriptive Name (e.g., "Jira", "Confluence").
- Add the URL of the external system (e.g., https://jira.example.com).
- Click Save.
The link appears immediately in the navigation bar for all users – in the "External Links" group.
