Roll out Q.wiki Connect with Intune for users

Info: This step-by-step guide helps you deploy the Q.wiki Connect browser extension to your organization using Intune policies. The extension is currently available only in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to Microsoft Intune
  • For Chrome: Google policy templates

Preparation Steps (Chrome only)

  1. Download the policy templates: https://dl.google.com/dl/edgedl/chrome/policy/policy_templates.zip (external)
  2. Import the ADMX and ADML files:
    1. In Intune, navigate to Devices > Manage Devices > Configuration > Import ADMX
    2. Important: Select the files chrome.admx and google.admx from the template package

Create a New Policy

  1. In Intune, navigate to Devices > Manage Devices > Configuration and select Create
    • Platform: Windows 10 and later
    • Profile Type: Settings Catalog
    • Enter a descriptive name for the policy

  2. Enforce Q.wiki Connect installation and add the extension ID:
    • Microsoft Edge: Search for "Control which extensions are installed silently" and enter: gbpjiapcejhebpcahlbaalaofklnobnd
    • Google Chrome: Search for "Configure the list of force-installed apps and applications" and enter: ehapebknchbhgklkcghkhmcjgaijhiii

  3. Configure the policies as needed (per user or per device)
  4. Assign the policy to the respective users or devices
  5. Save the policy

Result

The Q.wiki Connect browser extension is now automatically installed on all devices that receive this policy. Users cannot uninstall the extension.
