Modul Generator: Configure filter

Modified on Thu, 2 Apr at 4:20 PM

With the Module Generator, you can configure filters to reduce the elements displayed on overview pages or to quickly find specific items.

Filter configuration in the Module Generator

Types of filters

The Module Generator provides two types of filters:

  • Full-text search: Displayed above the table on the overview page and searches the visible columns for your entered text.
  • Additional filters: Displayed next to the table and can be freely configured.

Adding and managing filters

To create a new filter, click Add filter or + Add new filter. A block appears that you can:

  • expand and collapse,
  • reorder using drag & drop,
  • remove using Delete filter (when the block is expanded).

Configuring filter properties

For each filter, you configure the following properties:

Filter by

Select the field to filter by. Available options include:

  • Text fields
  • Selection list fields
  • User selection fields
  • Meta fields: Workflow status, Creator, Last editor

Filter name

The name is automatically populated with the field label. You can edit and adjust it at any time.

Filter type

Depending on the field content, choose one of these filter types:

  • Single selection: Suitable for fields with few values, where you can select one.
  • Multiple selection: Suitable for fields with few values, where you can select multiple.
  • Dynamic multiple selection: Suitable for fields with many values, where you can select multiple.

Recommendation

Tip: We recommend providing users with filters and allowing them to choose table elements, rather than configuring a tab for each filter. This keeps the interface cleaner.
