Module Generator: Configure tabs

The tabs on the module overview page provide a filtered view of the created items. By default, a tab called All Items is created, which you can configure or delete. At least one tab must be configured in order for the module to be released.

Configuration of tabs on the module overview

Structure and Management

  • Each tab is displayed as a block. You can change the order of the blocks using drag and drop.
  • The order from top to bottom corresponds to the display on the overview page from left to right.
  • To delete a block, expand it and click Delete Tab.
  • Click Add Tab to add a new block to the list and configure it.

Tab Configuration Options

Each tab has four configuration options:

Tab Title

The name of the tab as it appears on the overview.

Show Tab to These Roles

Use this option to display the tab only to users with specific roles.

  • If this field is empty, the tab is displayed to all users.
  • This setting has no effect on the permission management of the content.
  • Example: The All Items tab for vacation requests is only relevant for the HR department.

Restrict Content to Following Statuses

Use this option to display only items with one of the configured statuses in the tab.

  • If this field is empty, items in all statuses are displayed.
  • Examples: Tabs like "Open Requests", "Complaints in Progress", or "Accepted Projects".

Restrict Content to User Assignment

Use this option to display items that are personally assigned to a user. You can configure the following meta-users:

  • Creator
  • Last Editor
  • Last Editor per Status
  • Content from fields of type User Selection configured under Data and Views

Example: Vacation Requests

The overview should provide two tabs:

Tab 1: My Requests

This tab displays your own vacation requests in a clear overview.

Configuration:

  • For Restrict Content to User Assignment, select Creator.

Tab 2: My Approvals

This tab shows vacation requests that you, as a manager, need to approve.

Configuration:

  • For Restrict Content to Following Statuses, select Pending Manager Review.
  • For Restrict Content to User Assignment, select Manager from a field of type User Selection.
  • This allows the manager to see all relevant entries for their own account in this tab.

Integration with Personal Page

Tabs that enable personal assignment are integrated on users' personal pages when the Include in Personal Page feature is activated (under Base > Miscellaneous Settings).

Additional filtering options are available to you while working with the module.
