Modul Generator: Create and configure transitions

Modified on Thu, 2 Apr at 4:20 PM

With the Module Generator, you can create and configure outgoing approval workflows for each status. This article explains how to set up transitions and which parameters you need to configure.

Understanding outgoing and incoming transitions

Each status has two transition lists:

  • Outgoing transitions: Transitions that start from this status. You can edit these and add new ones.
  • Incoming transitions: Transitions that lead into this status. This list is read-only and provided for reference only.
Tip: You can reorder the outgoing transitions using drag and drop. The first transition in the list for which you have execution rights will be automatically suggested as the main action in the approval workflow.

Add a new transition

To create a new transition, click Add transition. The sidebar opens and allows you to configure the new transition.

Configuration parameters

A transition includes the following settings:

Target status

Choose the status that this transition should lead to. You can select any existing status.

Name

Enter a descriptive name for the transition. We recommend using active formulations, for example:

  • Grant approval
  • Request further revision
  • Release for review

Who can execute this transition?

Specify which users and roles are allowed to execute this transition. You can enter:

  • Individual users
  • Roles
  • Content from fields of type User selection
  • Page creator
  • Last editor of the page

Notify these users and roles

Define who receives an email notification when this transition is executed. Like the "Who can execute this transition?" parameter, you can select:

  • Individual users
  • Roles
  • Content from fields of type User selection
  • Page creator
  • Last editor of the page

Show confirmation message before transition

Enable this checkbox to display a confirmation message before the transition is executed. The user executing the transition will see your message and can confirm or cancel the action.

Examples of informative confirmation messages:

  • "By approving this page, you confirm your agreement with the project proposal."
  • "All supporting documents must be available before approval."

Edit or delete a transition

To edit an existing transition, click it in the list. The sidebar opens with the current settings.

To delete a transition, open it and click Delete from the drop-down menu next to Update transition.
