In this article, you'll learn how to create and configure new statuses for your module. Statuses define the different states that an element can go through – from creation to approval.
Overview: Default Statuses
Every new module configuration has two default statuses that you can rename but not delete:
- New – The starting point for newly created elements
- Deleted – The status for deleted elements
Configure a Status
Each status has two key settings:
1. Status Name
The name should describe a state or phase. Use adjectives or expressions like In Review, Ready for Approval, or Approved.
2. Edit Permissions for the Status
Define which users can edit the element in this status:
- Leave the field empty: Any user can edit the element
- Add specific users: Only these users can make changes
- Use roles or dynamic fields: You can restrict editing to roles, user selection fields from your form, Creator, or Last Editor
Practical Example
In the status Approval by Manager, you want only the responsible manager to edit the element. Enter the relevant users or role to ensure that only authorized people can make changes in this phase.
NobodyGroup. This blocks all edits until the status is changed.
Reorder Your Statuses
You can change the order of your statuses anytime using drag and drop. This order doesn't affect the module's functionality – it's purely for organization in the configuration interface.
