Give users the read-only right

Modified on Thu, 2 Apr at 4:18 PM

Read-Only permissions allow individual users or entire groups to view Q.wiki content without being able to edit it. You configure this by adding them to the ReadOnlyGroup.

Prerequisites

  • You have access to User Management (administrator rights required).
  • The users or groups you want to configure already exist in Q.wiki.
Good to know: Read-Only users can view content and participate in discussions, but cannot create, edit, or approve pages.

Step by step

  1. Go to Tools > User Management.
  2. Open Group Management via the corresponding tab.
  3. Search for the group ReadOnlyGroup and open it.
  4. Click + Add User or + Add Group, depending on what you want to restrict.
  5. Select the desired users or groups and save the change with Save.

Result

The selected users or groups now have read-only access to Q.wiki. They can view content and participate in discussions, but cannot edit or create new pages.
