Tips and tricks for converting old flowcharts into new BPMN flowcharts

Modified on Thu, 2 Apr at 4:21 PM

When converting old flowcharts to new BPMN flowcharts, the automatic result can be optimized with a few adjustments. Here's how to start the conversion: Switch to edit mode and double-click an old flowchart. Here are some practical tips for further editing:

Optimize arrow display

Arrows and their lines can sometimes overlap due to technical limitations. This is normal and can be fixed quickly: Move individual symbols or click on the lines and drag them apart to improve the arrow display.

Delete old flowcharts manually

The old flowchart is not automatically deleted during conversion. Once you're satisfied with the new flowchart, please delete the old flowchart manually.

Reconfigure links

Links are automatically migrated, but due to technical limitations in the new flowchart, they are always embedded as "External Link". We recommend reconfiguring links to other Q.wiki content as "Internal Links" accordingly. This will enable, for example, the display of the current page title.

Limited to one flowchart per page

From now on, only one flowchart can exist per page. Please note the following points:

Existing BPMN flowcharts will be overwritten

If a BPMN flowchart already exists on the page, it will be overwritten during the conversion process.

Alternative if you need multiple flowcharts

If you still need multiple flowcharts per page, this is no longer possible. We recommend splitting the page into multiple pages or displaying both languages within one symbol (for multilingual content).

Tip: You can copy old flowcharts from the old page to a new page and convert them there instead of rebuilding them completely.

Clean up template hints
