Templates are used to establish a uniform structure across pages in Q.wiki. You can customize them individually and create new templates.
Accessing templates
Access the template management through the three-dot menu of the respective area in the left menu bar. There you will find the Templates page, where you can edit each template like a regular page in Q.wiki.
Create a new template
Click the Create new templates button to create a new template.
Template settings
When creating the template, you select the name and language. This selection only affects the search index.
Edit the template in the editor
Edit the generated template in the editor like a regular page in Q.wiki:
- Add your content
- Select a page owner
- Save the page
Set the page type
When editing, you can choose from the following page types:
- Info page
- Process description
- Process overview
- Work instruction
- Data page
Approval workflow and sorting
After you create the template, it must go through the approval workflow before it can be used.
Templates are displayed in alphabetical order and can only be sorted by the template name.
Structure pages (Q.wiki Multisite)
Structure pages are used exclusively in Q.wiki Multisite. They serve to automatically display global content from a parent (Wiki) unit.
